兩姊妹 Tae 和 Yo 回到她們即將被拆除的老家。在整理家中的回憶物時，Tae 發現了一個紅色盒子，裡面裝滿了母親生前留下的食譜和書信。母親在二十年前過世，透過這些字句，Tae 逐漸了解母親一生的辛酸——從日本遷居到台灣、失去台灣籍丈夫的悲痛，以及與癌症奮戰的過程。為了更深入認識母親的過去，Tae 前往台灣，循著記憶與味道的足跡，回想起母親曾為一家人用心烹調的家常菜。

Synopsis
Two sisters Tae and Yo return to their old house which is soon to be torn down. Clearing up the family mementos, Tae finds a red box full of recipes and letters written by their mother who died 20 years ago. In these recipes and letters, she finds out how her mother had struggled in her life - relocation from Japan to Taiwan, the death of her Taiwanese husband, and a battle with cancer. Tae travels to Taiwan to trace back her mother's past, reminiscing about the dishes she made for the family.
