Synopsis
It was supposed to be a visit to her father's grave, but on the way Sarah Kohr passes a gas station where a robbery is taking place. When trying to stop the gunman, a shootout ensues - and Sarah sees too late that the thief she is shooting is a 15-year-old teenager. As the boy struggles to survive in the Hamburg Clinic, it turns out that the weapon he was carrying originally belonged to the radical left-wing terrorist group Revolutionary Cells, which has been wanted since it disappeared from the face of the earth 25 years ago. But how on earth does a gun like that get into the hands of a youngster?
Sarah Kohr's investigations lead her to the boy's hometown: Hohenbeck - a small, spooky housing estate surrounded by the so-called "Devil's Moor". The inhabitants of this no man's land form a sworn community and punish the investigator, who shot one of them, with cold inaccessibility. But it quickly turns out that there are other reasons why the residents are silent...
