影評:

「今年最好的電影之一。」BIRTH. MOVIES. DEATH.

AFRO TORONTO.

“...卡爾馬克維斯在片中描述難民和奧地利退休老人的相遇,以闡述內疚和悔恨的主題⋯⋯」

“....「⋯⋯"Nobody"(本片原名之諧音)也是神話中奧德修斯的暱稱,他在特洛伊戰爭後橫渡大海數十年,試圖找到自己的家,卡爾馬克維斯藉此作為隱喻⋯⋯」

Language: German

Synopsis

Heinrich Senft, a 93 year old, cranky pensioner, lives on a small allotment in Vienna. His dog died during the night and he wants to dig a hole behind his cabin to bury him. But failing to dig it himself he begrudgingly hires a young man from Afghanistan, Adib. While the two struggle to trust each other, Adib finds ways to pacify and appease the angry old man. Senft finds out that Adib has a wound on his foot, which seems rather badly covered up, but Adib pretends that all is well. When the work is done, Senft seems relieved to have the foreigner out of his back yard. Yet a little while later, when Senft finds Adib unconscious at the bus stop, he knows he will need to help the young man. When Adib regains consciousness, he refuses to go to hospital out of fear to be deported. Senft decides to take matters into his own hands to save this young man and the two spend a night together that is so full of chance, will-power, and inner revelation, that it sometimes appears hard to believe that these two found each other.

Synopsis

Heinrich, a 93-year-old cranky Viennese pensioner, wants to dig a hole to bury his recently deceased dog. When he comes across Adib, a young Afghan refugee begging for a job and willing to work for a pittance, Heinrich begrudgingly hires him to perform the task. At first, Adib manages to appease the high-tempered old man, but fear, prejudice and misunderstandings lurk around the corner. Nevertheless, the two men, representing two different and supposedly conflicting worlds, are about to bond in unimaginable ways, in the course of an out-of-tune and dramatic night of inner revelation and bold confessions.

Reviews:

"Get ready for one of the year's best films." BIRTH. MOVIES. DEATH.

"Nobadi turns the oddball couple genre on its head."

"There's a version of Nobadi, from writer-director and, elsewhere, actor.

"The premise was used in Aki Kaurismaki's The Other Side Of Hope and re-visited again in this Austrian version entitled Nobadi. Nobadi is a more serious version but not without humour." "Candid performances by both Trixner and Zadeh." AFRO TORONTO.

“...Karl Markovics tries to address guilt and remorse in his story about the fateful encounter between a refugee and an Austrian pensioner...“

“....As we later learn, “Nobody” was also a nickname for the mythical Odysseus, who traversed the seas for decades trying to find his home after the Trojan War, foreshadowing some of the heavier symbolism that Markovics will deploy.....“
