Judith Valeix, captain of the gendarmerie, investigates the murder of a sixty-something man, owner of an oyster business, found stabbed in an abandoned Protestant cemetery. The body is naked, placed in the fetal position and next to the corpse is placed an oyster shell in which the name of the dead is engraved. In collaboration with the forensic doctor, former military surgeon and native of the country, Vincent Lazare, his investigation will lead him to reopen the file of an unsolved disappearance, that of a young woman from the community of " the Little Church " - disappearance which had occurred twenty-eight years ago -, and to discover the reasons which pushed Lisa, his young assistant, to foment his murderous revenge.
