在精挑細選來自加拿大各地的參賽者後,這24位最優秀的業餘廚師將面臨最嚴苛的挑戰。過去的評審們全數回歸,麥可波納契尼(O&B連鎖餐廳)、梁經綸(香港的廚魔餐廳)還有克勞迪歐勒普雷(原創餐廳)。他們要證明自己有進到加拿大頂級廚師廚房的實力。頂級廚師首創先例,顛覆以往參賽者各自準備餐點的慣例。本季的參賽者將要在熟悉的環境下做菜。製作團隊決定給前24強一個驚喜,到他們各自家中跟辦公室進行挑戰。每一位參賽者都會收到一盒生米,他們只有20分鐘的時間決定他們要做什麼料理、帶齊他們所需的材料,並出發前往位於多倫多的頂級廚師廚房。他們要在那裡跟彼此較勁,證明自己應該值得前12強的圍裙。在12集節目中,參賽者們要通過一連串的神祕箱挑戰、壓力測試、團隊賽以及淘汰賽。業餘廚師們要全力以赴,他們的廚藝技術將備受考驗。每一集節目都會淘汰至少一名業餘廚師。最後兩名廚師將要在決賽一較高下,爭奪十萬元的大獎以及「加拿大頂級廚師」冠軍的殊榮。

Following an exhaustive cross-Canada search, 24 of the best home cooksfrom across Canadawill face the heat and returning judges Michael Bonacini (O&B restaurant empire), Alvin Leung (Bo Innovation in Hong Kong), and Claudio Aprile (Origin Restaurants), as they work to prove they have the culinary skills to cut itin the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen.In a series first, instead of preparing and presenting their signature dishone-by-one, home cook auditions begin on the finalists’ home turf. Each member of the Top 24 issurprised with their first challenge at their homes and offices. Presented with a box of uncooked rice, each aspiring chef has only 20 minutes to decide what they will make, as well as gather all their ingredients, before they travel to the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen in Toronto.Once there, the home cooks face off against each other to prove they deserve one of the 12 coveted white aprons up for grabs.Over 12 episodes, through a series of mystery boxes, pressure tests, and team and elimination challenges, the home cookswill be pushed to their limits and have their culinary prowess tested. At the end of each episode, at least one home cook will be eliminated from the competition until only two remain to battle it out in the finale for a chance to take home $100,000 and the sought after title of MASTERCHEF CANADA.
